The Oloid is a shape generated around two identical circles which are interlocked perpendicular to one another and has formed the structure of Alaska Orchestra’s latest release on Sydney label World’s Only. Using drone-like textures and live audio-processing, the band creates an ambient, omnipresent sound that evolves slowly as it meanders through melodic material. Alaska Orchestra is an all-encompassing, ever-evolving group driven by musician, artist and composer Megan Alice Clune. The orchestra grew from the monthly music night Musical Alaska at the Sydney artist run gallery Alaska Projects.
