Hannah Kim - Jang-gu Sam Gill - alto sax
Sam Gill is a saxophonist & composer based in Sydney. His music explores the intersections of composed and improvised music, most frequently appearing with groups he leads or co-leads including Coursed Waters, Scattered, Mind On Fire & Microfiche. His music grows out of interest in the rhythmic possibilities of improvisation as well as the sonic possibilities offered by the saxophone.
Hannah Kim is a multi Korean traditional percussionist also playing Ajeang, Haegeum and TaepyeongSo. With a strong Korean traditional music background, her music in Sydney mostly explores experimental and improvised music.
Hannah has participated in many experimental and contemporary projects in Korea including being part of ensembles: E flat, Dam’Tta and Hanyang Korean Traditional Orchestra.
She has played with Sydney’s Splinter Orchestra and currently, she is active as Ta-Go-Lak Jang-gu player with drummers Simon Barker and Chloe Kim debuting in 2016 at MONA Festival in Tasmania.
