"Improper Citation" features Charlie Sundborn (Saxophone), Miles Rooney (Trumpet), Matt Harris (Piano), Oscar Peterson (Bass) and Chloe Kim (Drums). 

Formed in 2016 after discovering the common interest in jazz-influenced experimental improvisations, as well as the sounds and textures from diverse musical traditions and rhythms, ‘Improper Citation’ has been an emerging ensemble in Sydney, performed at Hibernian House and ConVerge (with a featured artist, bassist/improviser, Clayton Thomas) in 2017. 

Improper Citation is honored to present their music on 15th March 2018, at Johnson Street Jazz.

Improper Citation is followed by Free For All - an open free jazz jam where duos, trios, and quartets are chosen from the audience (if they with to participate). Play a song you've never heard with somebody you've never met.

From 8pm to 10-ish, $20 cash at the door ($10 concession). BYO anything you want to eat or drink.
