SONIC MOVES

  • Halfback Books 1/8-12 pacific parade Dee Why (map)

SONIC MOVES is back in action at our new venue, Halfback Books at Dee Why on Thursday 26th April from 6-9pm with a wonderful line up of experimental sounds. Continuing with our drawing response invitations, people are welcome to come and enjoy the artist’s sonic impressions and if you feel that way inclined, you are welcome to draw in response to what you are hearing and feeling.

The rest of the line up will be announced shortly:
Line up so far:

*Spatio-Temporal Anomalies
is an experimental sound group working with video driven abstract compositions, using synths, drums, trombone and other instruments. With influences as diverse as Nietzsche, Jonas and Cage, new tensions are created from video and audio improvisation. They explore the endless oscillations and tensions between nature and industry, through mimetic gestures on traditional and non-traditional instruments, using loops, drones, syncopated patterns and notes to create soundscapes.

*Fabels
Watering cans and clotheslines on a sunny day, then the rain came so they went inside and started to play music. Cacophony of sounds through their brains was released into space, and their memories captured, and FABELS started its journey.
Fabels is the project for Ben Aylward ,singer composer with Australian 90s dream pop shoegazers Swirl and artist Hiske Weijers..
Pop music put in a blender with pedals looped with words.

*Silver Beat
Silver Beat is Aemon Webb, Melanie Eden and Simon Drawing. The trio have never performed together. Webb and Drawing are long time collaborators and Webb and Eden recently played at a Tempe Jets session. From Eden's POV Webb is an enigmatic glitchstar who likes to play heavy. Drawing (from listening to soundcloud) is practically a DJ (produces dance music) and she describes herself, as a old vs new enthusiast who likes to move her body.

Donation at the door for artists.
