MODERN GONG RITUAL

A very rare appearance by Modern Gong Ritual, sometimes described as “ Ambience with Attitude”. If you're only familiar with the better-known bands of the players, the soundscapes produced by MGR may come as a surprise. Modern Gong Ritual features Kent Steedman, lead guitarist for the legendary Celibate Rifles Michael Trifunovic, guitarist with Aqualash David Bullock, probably best known in Sydney for Kiss My Poodles Donkey, who brings the array of gongs along with percussion familiar and otherwise.

In recent times Michael and Kent have also appeared with Jim Moginie’s Electric Guitar Orchestra, and David has been playing with Melbourne-based projects such as Prism/Mirror/Lens, Triceratops Twins and the Paul Kidney Experience.

A Modern Gong Ritual show is usually part concert /  part meditation session
so come prepared for something out of the ordinary.

Enhancing proceedings on the night will be projections by William Bullock.
