Since 2012, Barbara Guzman and Moiver Ocayo (both from Chile) have interlaced their musical existences, creating BarMoi duo. Both from a classical music background, they meet again in Sydney to forget the strong burden and heritage of the past and to create from the concept of "today" and the "beyond-self". For Nights at Tempe, they have composed the 30 minutes piece "Cena Funebre: Requiem para 4", for cello, harp, voice, midi controller, and imaginary sounds.
Michael explores marginalised sound design practices - combining field recordings and electronic processing to create dense ambience and dark noise music.
Mike Majkowski’s double bassing was a huge presence on the improvised music scene from the early days of the Now now to when he left to live in Berlin in 2011. With Jim Denley he formed the duo Blip which has continued to make work occasionally - mainly in Europe. On a few occasions they’ve added Dale Gorfinkel to the mix, and in this concert they will also add Robbie Avenaim.
