Closing performance by group mrmrmrmrrrrrr of 'WAKE-WHAKE-TRACE Pt.5' for the exhibition l.a.n.u.a.g.e at Sydney Non Objective Art Projects

WAKE-WHAKE-TRACE is an ongoing project where MP Hopkins produces text-scores based on Finnegan’s Wake that are performed by group mrrmmmrrrr. The group consists of a shifting cast that use voice, objects, instruments and writing utensils to conduct performative readings as sonic renderings of Joyce’s text. Focussing on a particular section within the novel, each score extracts words and phrases then annotates these with suggestions and questions as to how the language might be interpreted. This will be the fifth score/performance produced as part of the project.

*the performance is open to anyone that wants to partake. No music or sound making skill is required. Objects, microphones, and writing utensils will be supplied.
