---

Bud Petal have recently released their fourth album Sydney, Sydney. The album is a musical diorama of modern day Sydney. It takes the listener from beers at the Courthouse Hotel in Newtown to corn-tassels in Clovelly. From wage slavery in Bankstown to longings for the Levant in Lakemba. From being happy in Hurstville to waiting for Louise with a cup of tea in Eastwood. From police brutality in Redfern to activists proclaiming “Know your city! Love your city! Organise to make it better!” Sydney, Sydney was released in February, 2019. It was recorded at Hospital Hill in Drummoyne, Sydney, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios, London.

Part à Bande present “Stethoscloop: Tape loops of heart rhythms by some members of The Loop Orchestra.”

The Loop Orchestra was formed in about 1982 by broadcasters Richard Fielding and John Blades and soon after joined by Peter Doyle, Anthony Maher and Patrick Gibson. They utilise reel-to-reel tape machines, playing tape loops on a number of machines in an orchestrated manner. The group continues to this day, despite the sad death of founding member John Blades in 2011. Its members are currently - Richard Fielding, Hamish McKenzie, Juke Wyatt, Sophea Lerner and Emmanuel Gasparinatos. Part à Bande for this show at Lamps will be Emmanuel and Juke, presenting a heart-felt piece made with a slight departure from the usual modus op of TLO.

Ian Shoebridge’s fiction and poetry mixes genres and questions perceptions of reality. His atmospheric guitar music is improvised in the moment, making each performance unique. He performs sporadically around Sydney and doesn’t have a website or blog.
