$15 / $10 concession
Anita Clark is a Wellington/NZ based violinist and composer often performing under the moniker Motte. Weaving together a richly textured world with a violin, delay pedal, a small collection of other tech, and her voice, her playing can be improvised, textural or noise based, modern classical and ambient or more structurally designed experimental pop songs. Motte has released two albums since 2015, 'Songs For Movies' and 'Strange Dreams', with a third due to be released early 2020. In between touring NZ and Aus, Anita has also recently composed music for the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s 2019 Choreographic Series, a Wellington short-film ‘Bloom’, a Sydney based short ‘Shadows’ by Eugene Dyson which recently played at Cannes Film fest, and a soundtrack for Montreal based experimental film maker Alexandre Larose.
Mahagonny will be Lena Czerniawska - drawing (Poland)
Emilio Gordoa - Vibraphone (Mexico)
Josten Myburgh - electronics (Perth)
and Laura Altman - clarinet and feedback (Dulwich Hill)
Vavenge comprises the dual synth & vocal attack of Nick Dan (xNoBBQx) and Nicola Morton (Club Sound Witches), the gothic bass melodies of Anthony Guerra (Love Chants) along with the semi-random automated whizzer percussion contraption courtesy of Matt Earle (Breakdance the Dawn, etc). It is music appropriate for zoning out in spacious surrounds and reflecting on nothingness.
