Since 2013, Annette Krebs has been developing and playing instrumental assemblages made of highly amplified metal pieces, strings, objects and microphones. "Konstruktion #1" to " Konstruktion #4" originated from the need to realise sound visions that could not be played with traditional instruments and set-ups. Microphones can make audible the finest, otherwise inaudible sound shades and colours of objects, and the series Konstruktion combines analogue and digital techniques. Flowing and frozen time, is also explored and sculpturally elaborated within the series.
Annette completed her music studies at the HfMDK in Frankfurt am Main. Before commencing the Konstruktion series, she spent time deconstructing her original instrument, the guitar and her first solo CD featured prominently in "The Wire" magazine in 2002. Her most recent guitar composition "Rush" appeared in 2014 on the label Another Timbre. She performs solo and with various ensembles at concerts and festivals including "100 Jahre Bauhaus - Das Eröffnungsfestival", "Donaueschinger Musiktage", "Heroines Of Sound Festival" and "Kontakt - Biennale für Elektroakustische Musik und Klangkunst". She has also been supported by numerous scholarships from Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa, Goethe-Institut, Cité Internationale des Arts Paris, Akademie der Künste Berlin, and EMS Elektronmusik Studion Stockholm.
O3 features the spanish accordionist Esteban Algora, the italian flutist Alessandra Rombolà and the norwegian percussionist Ingar Zach. O3′ music is about the extraordinary blend of infinite colours that the three members display with their instruments and the unique way they create their archetechtonic structures using improvisational and compositional parameters. O3 works across musical genres having worked with Merce Cunnigham Dance Company, the norwegian experimental circus company Stella Polaris and with the musicians Jane Rigler (USA, flute), Kim Myhr (NOR, guitar) and Jim Denley (AUS, sax/flute). Their debut album: "…de las piedras”, was released on the english label Another Timbre in 2007 and received excellent reviews.
With the new album Trashumancia, the trio decided to return to the chapel of the mysterious village of Urueña in Spain, where the first record was recorded. O3 felt the urge to go back and explore new musical territories in the chapel where the memory of the first recording was so strong. The result is darker and more subdued, producing a wonderful and fascinating soundworld with a trio which has found its true organic element. The three musicians overlap in instrumentation, and the birds in the background provide a delicate accompaniment to this fragile, focused set of orginal compositions.
