CANCELLED - ARIEL KALMA ! March 22nd at the REPUBLIC

  • People's Republic of Australasia Sydney, NSW, 2000 Australia (map)

We will avoid the risk of thinking this particular gig is cursed, but with great regret the Republic announces the cancellation (again!) of next weekend's proposed very special event.

Sadly Ariel once again is unable to travel and we can only hope we are able to reschedule again some time in the future...

ARIEL KALMA
NOT ON SUNDAY 22nd MARCH

So, with a free night on your hands, we recommend all our friends to head down to Tempe instead for another very special event...

AND WE ALSO ENCOURAGE ALL OUR FRIENDS
TO GET ALONG TO MARRICKVILLE GOLF CLUB
NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT at 7.30 FOR THE GIG
TO CELEBRATE THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE EXCELLENT ALTERED STATES TAPES!

Ten Years of Altered States Tapes
To celebrate ten years of operation as a label (and also doing its best to support underground electronic/experimental music in Australia more generally),
Altered States Tapes welcomes you to join some of it’s friends
who have been involved over this past decade.

Circular Ruins (Berlin)
Circular Ruins is Berlin-based visual artist and ‘scape sculptor, Marijn Degenaar.

Loose-y Crunche
Shape-shifting noise-no-goodnik, Lucy Phelan uses The Crunch as a vehicle to expel the techno-bro demons that have been trailing her from the last Lucy Cliché gig.

Tsap (Newcastle / Sydney)
Tsap have a remarkably strange tape, titled Eating A Tree, available now on Altered States and a slightly more approachable LP coming later in the year.

Impatiens (Newcastle)
Amelia Besseny has been performing her solo synth-pop experiments as Impatiens in Newcastle for awhile now, no small feat given the cultural vacuum that exists there.

Subterranean Rain
Corroded experiments that straddle the frayed lines between techno, post-punk and cold-wave. Glimmers in the murk.
