Remember last week - and the week before - how we missed each other - but how the sound and the music was out of this world.
It's going to happen again - on Thu 2nd April - at 8 o'clock.
From a virtual location - where there's only one person in the room - and he's got a double bass. And another person nearby with fantastic sound equipment. And you - wherever you are...
Elsen Price is a genius, working across folk and world music, new classical and avant-garde, jazz and free improv. He is an incredible consumer of music, and his weekly show on EastSide FM, "New Australia", is an incredible insight into the music being created in the new music community.
His latest album "Descent of the Free" - released on ABC Music - is a series of drones, overdubs, and glitchy bass lines exploring the movements of the spirit. Elsen's spirit, I guess. It obviously moves fast. From 8pm tomorrow night (Thursday) he will perform a two hour solo double bass improvisation. We'll keep it online for a week, but after that it will disappear forever. Live music, my friends, with no safety net.
We will be streaming live to FaceBook (and possibly YouTube) from a secret sterile jazz bunker. Nobody will touch anybody - they'll be too far apart.
You can watch for free, but please pay the musician as if you were coming to the gig - (100% goes to Elsen)
