Sizzle has been smashing stereotypes for more than a decade, taking art music out of the concert hall and setting it loose at the local bowlo. After a brief hiatus in 2020 – everyone’s had a lot on, right? – we’re back to the inner west of Sydney, but as usual we’re mixing things up. This time around our signature blend of musical virtuosity and artistic irreverence will be served up at Marrickville’s newest venue, The Great Club, in an extended festival format. Strap in for an anarchic afternoon of art music-meets-indie-meets-pop-meets-family show. Featuring a knockout set by the one-of-a-kind ‘Am I’ team of diverse musicians, double bass sensation Will Hansen (20/21 Hatched Academy Associate Artist) and a surround sound installation that will dazzle the senses, our 2021 Sizzle Festival is turning up the heat.
