Powerhouse Late: Sounding the Collection

  • Powerhouse Museum 500 Harris St Ultimo, NSW, 2007 Australia (map)

Join us in exploring the curious and wonderful sounds of the Powerhouse Collection as it comes to life through two exciting projects, Oscillations and Sounding the Collection.

From automaton bird cages to art deco clocks, Sounding the Collection, is a sonic archive from the Powerhouse that brings objects sitting silent in the collection to audition – ready to be sampled, played, and transformed into music.

Learn how the collection is recorded with Sonia Leber and David Chesworth; play with poetic and musical samples from the Oscillations project with Ableton Live School drop-in workshops; and witness special live performances by Dakota Feirer, Lucy Cliché, and Moe Aung as they incorporate Powerhouse collection samples into new sound works.
