Golden Strangers
“Tarantino spaghetti lounge”
The latest project from Julian Curwin (The Tango Saloon, Cannibal Spiders, Munkle).
You may not know them now, but these guys won't be strangers for long. Led by guitarist/banjoist Julian Curwin, this band follows somewhat in the footsteps of The Tango Saloon, though ultimately finds its way to a dive bar in a Tarantino film, choosing 45s from the jukebox and sharing a booth with Bowie and Morricone.
Ollie Thorpe (pedal steel, vocals)
Julian Curwin (banjo, melodica)
Brendan Clark (bass)
Jamie Cameron (drums, percussion).
Slow Streams (meets 50 Cycles)
Sydney based multi-instrumentalists, improvisers and composers Emily-Rose Sarkova and Nick Henderson bring their collaborative ambient improvisations to Jetsets.
Slow Streams grew out of the necessity for Emily-Rose to feel at ease with the world through the covid pandemic. Music helps to soothe us. Ambient improvisations on piano, synths and voice became a medicine for our minds at Peppermint Grove Studios and Slow Streams were born. Always changing, improvised music, featuring piano, that inspires slow breath, reflection and ease.

50 Cycles is music suspended between post-rock builds, lo-fi drones and felt laced dreams. Nick Henderson releases his ambient improvised tape, synth, and instrumental music under this pseudonym. Utilising an ever changing setup that may include synths, samples, tape, pedals, computers, guitars and even a fretless banjo - 50 Cycles will immerse you as an infinitesimal speck surrounded by a primordial soup of sound.
