In Time as Revelator we celebrate the power of the beat and the passage of time through music, with original chamber music by some of the world's most exciting composers. Also celebrating Iannis Xenakis’ 100th anniversary, prepare for a high-energy performance ofPlektó – a highlight of our 2022 season.

The five works in this electric program are all unique due to the way in which they reference rhythm. Each is informed by a traditional music influence, including Cuban, Greek, African and American jazz.

Several are classics of the repertoire by Iannis Xenakis and Steve Reich, two are written by Australian star composers William Gardiner and Holly Harrison, and one is by Cuban Pulitzer Prize winning composer Tania León, whose strikingly original music we premiere in Australia for the first time.
