Art & Music in Ancher House Gallery

Join us for a live performance by acclaimed Blue Mountains-based minimalist pianist and composer Monica Brooks. Brooks’ sound is poetically and sonically influenced by the landscape and notions of love and loss. Listen to the heartbreaking and beautifully crafted sounds as they unfurl in this special one-hour performance in Ancher House.

As a performer Brooks has collaborated with many musicians including Magda Mayas and Laura Altman for Great Waitress, Jim Denley and Dale Gorfinkel for West Head Project to name a few. Brooks has composed for various choirs and scored for film projects. Her current projects rely on solo piano form for compositions at home, or in churches as a reverberant community space.
