Experience Ken Unsworth’s sculptural installation Suspended stone circle II 1974–77/1988 in a completely new way during a meditative sound bath with singing bowls practitioner Chaitanyashree. Grab a cushion or stool and immerse yourself in this ephemeral encounter of art and sound in our newly opened 20th-century galleries. Drop in for a contemplative moment or stay for the full meditation.
One of the most popular works in the Art Gallery’s collection, Suspended stone circle II comprises 103 river stones, each weighing around 15 kilograms, suspended from three points on the ceiling by wires in a poetic installation that evokes a sense of wonder.
Chaitanyashree is a sound therapist, healer and teacher whose practice is based on the ancient Vedic understanding of sound and energy healing. Born in Nepal, he is currently based in Katoomba, NSW.
