Have we got a treat for you! Two local legends, two interstate stars and an international luminary, all incredible innovators of beautiful, daring music, combining forces for what will be a couple of stunning sets!

Set 1: Chris Abrahams & Sam Gill

Jetsets are excited to present the first duo meeting of pianist Chris Abrahams and saxophonist Sam Gill. The pair first collaborated in 2022, with Chris appearing as a guest artists with the electro-acoustic group Microfiche during their celebrated residency at 107 Projects. Stripping back to the acoustic duo format, the pair will present an improvised set that explores shimmering resonances, interlocking cycles and immersive lyricism.

Set 2: Loose Leaf: Saragossi/Svoboda/van der Schyff (MEL/CAN)

Loose Leaf is a contemporary jazz trio that creates music with a unique and uninhibited sense of freedom and trust. Led by saxophonist Andrew Saragossi and featuring two of Australia's most idiosyncratic and exciting improvisers Helen Svoboda (d.bass) & Canadian drummer Dylan van der Schyff, their music explores the intersection of structured composition and free improvisation with a strong emphasis on texture, melody, expressiveness and spontaneity.

This performance at Jetsets is part of Loose Leaf's Australian tour in support of their debut album “How We Cope”, released on MADE NOW MUSIC in April 2023.
