A SINKLESS SHORE

  • 107 Projects 107 Redfern Street Redfern, NSW, 2016 Australia (map)

With courage and sincerity, experimental vocalist-songwriter and accordionist Melanie Eden intimately explores landscapes of madness to transform suffering into the divine.

Inspired by Leonard Cohen's lyric; "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in” comes a bold and fragile showing of an unreleased album. Eden, a local trans-disciplinary artist, survivor of violence, advocate of difference, dances along a high-wire of madness, beauty and curiosity for as long as the audience permits. She sings to the rights of the child, communities of care, and freedom from harm. Join her spiritual ecological cry of song, story and moving image.

Tickets:
This is an invitation to explore giving. What feels right? Often gift economy gets confused with freebies. These shows aren't free, to do so would be disrespecting the value of the contributions. Yet and still, no one will be turned away. Please contact me if you need. I wish to acknowledge the disproportionate imbalance of capital. And send a message of trust into the world. To help discernment full transparency of where money goes and costs will be here.

money goes:
-20% of ticket profits will go to the Sydney Fringe Festival
-$200 ($100 per show) will go to 107 projects

costs for making:
-$290 registration fee
-I've commissioned a $200 video work for the show
-$96 whatsonsydney ad
-$33 facebook ad
-$34 brandx studio booking (so far)
-$35.54 props (so far)

Please book 24 hours or more before, otherwise Syd Fringe will discount tickets 50% (and for me, it makes it hard to keep organising these things).
