COUCH

Couch is the occasional collaboration between Laura Altman and Danny Wild. They combine feedback, resonance, synthesis, musical instruments and found objects to create temporary, abstracted, dynamic, soft and visceral small worlds.

FRAGILE IDS

‘Fragile Ids’ is a fluid occasional improv ensemble consisting of members of originally Blue Mts musicians John Shand, Tim Cunningham and Jo Truman- who meet every now and then for random play sessions and gigs. A couple of years ago electro acoustic musician Andy Milne joined the fray. This performance will include their continuing mode of navigating exploratory and improvised musical approaches and landscapes which usually don’t conform to traditional classical or jazz harmony, preferring to traverse microtonality and surprising juxtaposing dissonance . Jo Truman is concerned with the search for an authentic embodied voice which combines her microtonal and other vocal techniques with Milne’s electronic interfaces whilst Shand’s percussive wizardry can map and shift the mood and direction in less than a heartbeat.
