Low 302 (302 Crown St, Surry Hills)
A diverse group of artists with an improvisation practice come together in an experimental multidisciplinary collaboration process to divine something to do with, for, or in-front of, an audience.
This is the first of a new monthly series of events supported by the City of Sydney. A group of artists have 1 day to put something together before performing it at Low302 later the same week.
Free event, donations encouraged.

They may tell you about the research or concepts underpinning what they're doing, or not. It's up to them, and they decide what they do at their discretion.... that is to say, the plan very well could be that there is no plan; which is in of itself a plan.
In this project, the artists have licence to do anything they like within the resources provided, and are offered the freedom to be responsive to the moment.
"Weirding Ways" is a diversity loving queer monthly event that brings together artists for a one-day creative exchange workshop prior to a night of no-expectations-by-anyone that's probably going to involve multidisciplinary performance but could just be a conversation that might be humourous, or maybe really serious... It depends on what comes up during the workshop, which will only have been held a few days before.
The series is led by four artistic facilitators of diverse backgrounds. Each artistic facilitator leads a few months of the series (not necessarily consecutively) to nurture the spontaneity and depth arising from working with groups of weirding artists who have an improvisation practice, and, naturally, we'll figure it out as we go along. The artistic facilitators are experienced improvisers and multi-disciplinary practitioners known in fields of dance, theatre and music; Nikki Heywood, Dean Walsh, Victoria Hunt and Andrew Batt-Rawden.
Although we'll be sharing information on specific experimental and improv websites about the event as it becomes available, including artist lineup, most of the communications to audience will be through email. Sign up to get updates
