ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Emily Morandini performance will involve DIY electronics and an exploration of electrical signal as sound.
Emily Morandini is an artist, arts facilitator, and researcher living on Dharawal country (Wollongong). Her sound practice uses DIY electronics, textiles, and sculpture to explore materials that underpin electrical signal. She has performed and exhibited at various arts festivals and galleries over the past decade.
MP Hopkins’ electroacoustic performance responds to his recent release, Misting, with an experimental approach to instrumentation. The performance will be sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, moving through acoustic and amplified sound spread throughout the space. Instruments include a tape recorder and digital four track, bowed brass goblets, a pitch pipe, an ocarina, a little wind-up music box, voice, feedback, a radio, a lyre harp, and acoustic guitar.
This initiative is proudly supported by the NSW Government through the Culture Up Late Western Sydney program.
