Inspired by Chinese cosmology, this concert transports audiences back to the beginning of time through spoken narrative and musical interludes. Moving across various Chinese instruments, Dr Nicholas Ng retells a rarely-told creation myth with highly acclaimed musicians Cliona Mollins (harp) and Maharshi Raval (tabla) in a program that crosses genres and cultural boundaries.
Clíona is a Sydney-based harp player, teacher and composer who has appeared on ABC Radio and the Sydney Opera House.
Maharshi is unsurpassed in his ability to subdivide time on the tabla with appearances on national TV and at the Royal Albert Hall.
Nicholas is music director of the Chinese Music Ensemble at Sydney Conservatorium. He has toured internationally to many festivals and has featured on SBS and ABC TV & View.
