ABOUT ECSTATIC
JOLT Arts will showcase three ecstatic and legendary in-house acts. Prepare to levitate upon audio waves of delight and heightened awareness.
Mesmerising and technically bedazzling, Tarlochan Bobby Singh is Australia’s master of the tabla and Indian Classical rhythmic flows.
In a reimagining of what it means to be avant-garde, award-winning interabilities act The Amplified Elephants (Teagan Connor, Jay Euesden, Steven Hagiliassis, Robyn McGrath, Daniel Munnery, Esther Tuddenham, Natalie Walters) with leading chamber ensemble/band BOLT Ensemble (Belinda Woods (flute), Gideon Brazil (woods), Zac Johnston (violin), Mary Doumany (harp), Karl Willebrant (bass), Hamish Upton (drums) and guest artist Shannon Bourne (guitar)) and Australia’s recalcitrant sound artist James Hullick in a night of multicultural, electric and expansive sonic offerings.
Each act is to be presented in 3D multichannel surround sound delivered by Michael Hewes, Australia’s leading sound diffusion engineer and artist. Hullick and the BOLT Ensemble will perform alongside projections by Japanese video master Akiko Nakayama.
“This show was a masterpiece. This was fantastic. The fusion of old and new in such an original way. Bobby Singh is such an extraordinary tabla player, beyond belief.” www.theprogram.net.au
