Join Australian composer and performer Lisa Lerkenfeldt for a musical premiere at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Lerkenfeldt’s ‘In the window of time’ was commissioned by the prestigious INA GRM in Paris, France. She made a series of recordings using a piano and a set of custom-made tape loops played back on a Nagra tape machine. In reference to monumental climate shifts in the Australian environment, Lerkenfeldt exposed the tape loops to the Australian sun for a year. The subsequent degradation of sound results in a tonality that drifts and breaks down over the course of a single live performance.
