Scattered Order (Launch of New Album CONTINUE)

After an unforgettable tribute to long time colleague and friend Michael Tee last year, the Sydney experimental legends return to the Red House to launch their superb new album in an unmissable one-off event with special guests...

SCATTERED ORDER with special guests HELVETICA NOISE

SUNDAY March 30th at 7 p.m. [doors at 6.30]

They don't make noise like that anymore.
After the tragic passing of Michael Tee in May 2024, Scattered Order were determined to continue on.
So in June, they returned to the studio to start recording a new album. Early on in the proceedings it was decided to use drones that Michael had already recorded as a basis for the tracks. So began an exploration of processing, sampling and repurposing these drones and incidentals into salient elements for a series of new recordings. Over the period of a couple of months they became quite focussed and obsessional, producing a recording of hope-filled laments that touched on the ephemeral and timeless moments in memory and slow renewal.

Now Scattered Order return to the Red House to launch their new album “Continue”.
Matthew Syres (treated guitar) will be joining Mitch Jones and Shane Fahey for this special one-off performance.

With special guests Helvetica Noise, celebrating the release of their debut EP, 'Lost in the Dust Factory'.
Helvetica Noise are a music and poetry art form at the intersection of moths and streetlights where a writer, a musician and a noise artist fuse improvisation, procedure, experimentation & composition to create unfolding soundscapes.

With live video projections by LIVING SCIENCE Dept.

Helvetica Noise

Intersection of moths & streetlights

Helvetica Noise - a writer, a musician & a noise artist fusing improvisation, procedure, experimentation & composition to create unfolding soundscapes. Moments in time that you’ll never hear the same way twice. As fleeting as moths under streetlights.

Helvetica Noise met through the thriving underground arts and music scene on Gadigal land of Marrickville, Sydney, Australia in 2018. They have performed a lot in Sydney at various fringe word/poetry and music festivals and arts events since then, ranging from the World’s Smallest Festival and King Street Crawl in both 2018 and 2019, their sell-out event Not Relatable in Enmore, to the InnerWest Council’s Midjuburi/Edge festival several years’ running more recently.

Through 2022 to 2024, Helvetica Noise recorded a suite of 6 EPs to progressively release. In May 2024 Helvetica Noise released the single How To Listen To Storms from their EP Lost In The Dust Factory, which came out on 29 November 2024.

Helvetica Noise is Aviva Shifreen (words), Genevieve Von Black (synths) & Matthew Syres (electronics & effects).
