Enjoy the transformative sounds of French visual artist and musician Félicia Atkinson at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Atkinson, an electro-acoustic composer, creates phantasmic musical landscapes by collaging field recordings, instrumentation, snippets of essayistic language in both French and English, and her own voice. For Atkinson, the human voice inhabits an ecology alongside many things that don’t speak – landscapes, images, books and memories – and her layered compositions tell stories that alternately stretch and fold time and place.
At this event, she will perform works from her album Space as an instrument, released in 2024, along with other music from her recent repertoire.
