Join us for the fourth in a series of bi-monthly events showcasing a diverse range of artists working with and around sound. Curated by members of UNSW’s Sound, Energies and Environments group, the series of early evening performance-focused events present exciting new and experimental works from both emerging, established, local and visiting artists engaged in the expanded domain of contemporary sound practice. 

Ry

Ry is interested in creating new links between different sonic histories as a musician, radiohost and DJ. Exploring the methodology of electronic music to create environmental sound experiences, particularly through use of sampling and organic / synthetic elements in composition. A documentation of audio and visual work will be released on cassette later this year.

Ry will be perfomring an exploration into the abilities of the laptop and DAW environment as an improvisational instrument. Incorporating generative and algorithmic methods, this performance experiments with and builds on sonic frameworks. The material is responsive and is intended to expand the potential of the stem or sample beyond a predefined structure. This is the first time this material has been performed in a live setting.

Voronoi

Voronoi is the electronic music alias of artist & researcher Richard B. Keys. Voronoi explores the cross over of club music & experimental electronics. 

Voronoi will be performing some new materia comprised of deconstructed fragments of darkside bassweight, noise & hidef digitalia.
