Nice Music & Double Vision present a triple cassette launch:
COMPOUND (Melb)
Nice Music is proud to present the debut release from Melbourne's Per Bystrom (Exhaustion, Ooga Boogas) as a solo artist, emerging from an intense period of gestation and realisation as Compound. Bystrom has constructed a purely synthetic vocabulary as his expressive ammunition on 'Eternal Estate' - plaintive swathes of sines and gravelled synth tones ululate in and out of haunted futurist rhythms, searching for context or meaning almost playfully within a self-imposed void.

NICOLA MORTON
Nicola is an electronic music artist who uses DIY experimental processes in composition/performance. She holds a Bachelor of Music Technology from Queensland Conservatorium of Music. She has composed for gamelan and classical ensembles in Australia and Indonesia, and has spent the last 7 years focusing on analogue synthesizers and free improvisation touring throughout Europe, China and the USA with various performers, ensembles and groups. National Film and Sound Archive has collected her solo experimental electronic recordings released on Australian DIY labels: Breakdance the Dawn, Alberts Basement; and European labels Musica Dispersa and LF Records.

SIMON J. KARIS (Melb)
Simon J. Karis crafts an ambitious narrative arc, tangible through the presence of sculpted sound and ecstatic melody alone rather than words or literal description. Visceral thought patterns both fleeting and consuming during leisure time swarm and writhe for their place; ingrained neurosis, the pursuit of pleasurable life experience, the impulse to forget for a while, the desire to be present.

SKYLINE
Comprised of Del Lumanta (one half of duo Video Ezy with Nina Buchanan, Paradise Daily) and David Akerman of Dead Farmers (RIP Society). The duo's thoughtful attention to crystalline sonic detail conjures a rich glow around the edges of their elongated ambient synth and piano plateaus.

CLARE COOPER
Is passionate about the sociability of improvisation and it’s capacity to encourage compassion and radical acts of trust. She starts things; the NOW now festival of experimental music and film, The Splinter Orchestra and Berlin Splitter Orchester, Smack/Bang Film Soundtrack Festival and responding to the oppressive and helpless atmosphere around the “arts cuts” co-founded Frontyard: a space experimenting with proactive research, community futuring and skill-sharing.
