For our seventh installment of weekly audio visual performance events - Freda's welcomes our first international act ARE from Singapore, with support from Shoeb Ahmad and Benjamin Drury

ARE (Singapore)
ARE is an independent sound project and art rock band based in Singapore by Frank and Lily. The duo invites the Listener to psych-art arrangements that sway between loud guitars, colourful electronics, and lyrical tales in impossible time. They have performed and recorded in Japan and Singapore, from a museum to an abandoned house.

Shoeb Ahmad
Shoeb Ahmad offers a rich and extensive background in Australian music, creating idiosyncratic music over the last decade. Using guitar, keyboard, voice and computer, Shoeb works both as singer/composer and improviser when performing solo or as a member in a number of groups including Agency, Spartak and Tangents. For this performance, Shoeb will be joined by emerging young composer Benjamin Drury on harmonium for a long form melodic tone work.
