This February we team up with Dual Plover to present a series of three physically distanced contemporary sound events like you’ve never seen before. Audiences will receive an up-close and personal experience in these intimate 10-minute sessions. Be inspired as you stand just 1.5 metres away from some of Sydney’s most innovative musicians: Chris Abrahams, Del Lumanta and Lucas Abela.
Whip out your phone to livestream the event and share it on your socials using the hashtag #mcaupcloseandpersonal. The content captured will be compiled for an online audience and featured on this page.

Lucas Abela’s unorthodox performances with shards of broken glass have become the stuff of legend. Since its invention, the glass has evolved from a means to create free-noise cacophonies into an incredibly versatile instrument producing an organic form of outsider electronica. Played somewhat like a bell-less saxophone, subtly vibrating lips transmitting micro-sonic vibrations into the pane. This single audio source then feeds a complex modular patch of parallel effects chains to give the instrument the illusion of ghostly accompaniment that forms dense layers of anomalous music.
Tickets for this event will be released on Monday 22 February.
Tickets for this event will be released on Monday 15 February.
