Antoun’s Dreamfest is a new annual exploratory music festival.
Out of the cracked chrysalis pours forth a stream of intangible artists. The journey flows out to the inner sea.
If dreams are truly collective then Antoun’s Dreamfest will be the soundtrack. Bringing together free spirits and channelling shared visions. The new normal presents new possibilities.

PETER FARRAR

YVETTE OFA AGAPOW
Yvette Ofa Agapow is a noise artist, improviser and percussionist practicing mainly on the traditional lands belonging to the Jagera/Turrbal people - Meanjin (otherwise known as ‘Brisbane, Australia’). Her sound-making practice primarily involves the use of objects, detritus and sex toys manifesting in intense, extended-duration improvisations and large-scale performance pieces as a means of interrogating her relationship to gender, the body, pain, and desire. She is a frequent performer in Meanjin’s noise/experimental scene, often programmed beside similar underground artists, as well as in larger scale events including Tyalgum Music Festival and Woodford Folk Festival. As a collaborator, she is in several currently running ensemble projects including QMA-winning Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra, Gypsobelum, Gatekeeper to Desolation, エヴァンゲリオン ℙ𝕣𝕠𝕛𝕖𝕔𝕥 𝕔𝕒𝕥𝕓𝕠𝕪-𝟘𝟘𝟛, YASS, NSW (2582) and 21G3ND3R5.

VOLCANO OF BOILING SHIT
Messy blips and joyful bloops storking from Awabakal land on an endless clowning loop of misery. Peeps from mermaids, synchronised periods and obat batuk.

MEL EDEN + GUESTS
Mel Eden is excited by spontaneous play with relationships. She was introduced to the realm of interactive theatre in 2012 when cast in Olivier Award nominated You Me Bum Bum Train and never looked back. Her interests are in how knowledge is created. What needs to be unlearned in our current social ecological crises. Advocating for alternatives to the biomedical model of mental health. Normalising spiritual extraordinary experiences. And falling in love with the more-than-human. She has spent 9 years working in improvised music and experimental performance. And studied Pansori Master Bae Il Dong . She now returns to songwriting and musical theatre roots to create something new. Like many she wrote a forthcoming album during the pandemic. And her two released singles have received a warm review with Double J playing 'Caught' across Australia. And New Weird Australia featuring 'End of Known' on their 'Collapse Theories' recent release.

NICK ASHWOOD
Nick Ashwood is a composer and performer of contemporary experimental music, from nipaluna/Tasmanian. Nick has performed and recorded with a diverse array of artists such as Laura Altman, Jim Denley, Robbie Avenaim, Annette Krebs, Amanda Stewart, Splinter Orchestra and Chris Abrahams, amongst others. Nick has toured throughout Australia and New Zealand and performed at a number of large festivals across Australia including Dark Mofo, Sound out, Mona Foma, The Now Now and Avantwhatever.

LOVE CHANTS
"Love Chants use guitar, drums and vocals to generate somnambulant slow-motion garage moves that take nod-out re-thinks of the third Velvet Underground album and dilate it with almost-Loren Connors-style single chord poetry and the kinda free-floating garage psych of Japan's Suishou No Fune. As a vocalist Guerra exhales more than sings, adding blushes of luminous tone to the tracks in a way that comes over like a post-coital take on the barely-there tradition pioneered by Reiko Kudo, Ai Aso et al. The playing somehow manages to be simultaneously restrained and tightrope-walking, constantly teetering on total collapse while navigating the kind of instant universal music of a Babi or A Little Treatise On Morals shot through with great gobs of silent white light. Heartbreaking idiot avant at some kind of a-formal peak." - c. David Keenan 2013
Love Chants is Anthony Guerra, Michael Zulicki and Matt Earle.

DEBRIS
"Debris is Chris Colla. Formerly a punk doing time in the likes of Orion, The No and the earliest incarnation of Low Life, these days Colla spend his personal time dabbling in wired experiments in liminal duo Tsap and experimental trio Ivory Whips. The lingering hum of Colla's background in philosophy and film can still be heard in the uneasy worlds he constructs via dense vignettes that drip with unease. These environs are not without life though, propulsion being delivered in the form of heaving, industrial machinations. A proper recorded document of Debris is yet to exist, so the only space to see him is in the pallid flesh." - CB

An active member of the experimental/improvised music scene in Australia, Jasmin has also shared her work in Europe, China and North America. ROSIE MCPHERSON
"I'm Rosie and this piece is called 'Sunny Street" and is a collection of soundscapes and recorded sounds from outside mixed with inside piano sounds. I do quote "Sunny Side of the Street" by Louis Armstrong, but it is mostly alluded to. The performance is also dedicated to my Dad and Mum who have had the worst year so far and I am here to give my thoughts and feeelings about being inside and outside, and merging changing worlds together."
JEREMY HEGGE
Renowned field recording artist and patient listener Jeremy Hegge presents a set of improvised music.

GERM STUDIES
Germ Studies is the inspired pairing of pianist Chris Abrahams, and harpist Clare Cooper – but if you're expecting a harmonic polyphony of harp and piano you'll be shocked by the alien landscapes crafted on DX7 synthesizer and guzheng (Chinese zither).
This is their first live concert since 2018.
"fascinating ... pieces flit to life like mating cells, making skewed, surprise lurches and appearing generally feverish throughout. The interplay between artists is never less than enthralling, their actions raw, revealing, …a ceaseless procession of sounds veering off in all directions." CYCLIC DEFROST

MP HOPKINS
MP Hopkins is an artist working on Gadigal land (Sydney, Australia) who makes audio, performance, installation, and textual works. Hopkins has released recordings with Penultimate Press, Canti Magnetici, Tahalamos, Albert’s Basement, Mappa Editions, Aussenraum Records and Regional Bears. He has performed locally at events organised by the NOW now, Liquid Architecture, Avantwhatever, and The Make it Up Club. A.S.
A.S. (Allanah Stewart) is an artist/musician/sound troll/gardener from NZ currently based in Naarm/Melbourne. THE LOOP ORCHESTRA
The Loop Orchestra presents ‘Mood Anomie’
A journey through the library of West German light industrial composition. As B-M-G’s bloody insurrection attempts to lay waste to the post-war ‘Wirtschaftswunder’ faceless men create moodscapes for the anomie of the nascent surveillance state. Syncretic terrorism for the ‘Mauergeist'

YSK
Ysk is a guitarist, a capoeirista, an early childhood education assistant, and a risk-hedging gambler.
Ysk does not believe in the current conditions of working and paying rent. Zachary Rolfe should have been found guilty and Gaza should not be bombed every Ramadan. Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Australia should be free a.s.a.p. Minerals Council of Australia should be minimised. Tax payers should stop paying Serco to "manage" services such as detention facilities, prisons, health systems, weapons investments, and everything else they touch that turns to horrid and rancid disgrace.
It's quite hard to convey these things when playing guitar.

PETER BLAMEY
Peter Blamey is a Sydney-based artist. His practice is often sound-focussed and accomplished with a minimum of means, and includes performances, videos, recordings and installations. Broadly speaking, his work explores (amongst other things) the interconnected themes of energies and residues, often through reimagining our everyday encounters with mundane materials and technologies and the physical world, and our experiences of energy generation, use and wastage.
