ALISTER SPENCE & FELICITY WILCOX

Pianist and composer Alister Spence has established a reputation as a creative force in jazz and improvised music in Australia and beyond. He was a founding member of ARIA-award-winning bands Clarion Fracture Zone and Wanderlust. Current projects include the long standing Alister Spence Trio (ARIA and Art Music Award nominated 2004, 2007, 2018, 2021), Kira Kira with acclaimed Japanese pianist Satoko Fujii, and Sensaround with Sia Ahmad (AU) and Raymond MacDonald (Scotland). In 2020 Spence released a solo album Whirlpool showcasing ‘on-the-spot,’ real-time improvised piano compositions. He has made numerous recordings as a composer, performer and bandleader and toured widely nationally and internationally.

Felicity Wilcox is a composer and performer whose output encompasses concert music, film music, songwriting, improvisation, music for theatre, installation, and radio. She won the 2021 Pythia Prize and has received commissions for many leading ensembles and festivals, including The Australia Ensemble, Ensemble Offspring, Rubiks Collective, Ironwood, The Song Company, Decibel, ANAM, Vivid Sydney, CIMF Canberra, and Sydney Festival. Under the alias Felicity Fox, she has worked extensively as a composer and music director, and was Assistant Music Director and Composer for the Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony in Sydney 2000. She has composed the soundtracks to over 60 productions for film and television, for which she received multiple ARIA, AACTA and APRA/AGSC awards/nominations.
