A night of musical wonderment! First up we have the enigmatic Peter Farrar, well-known across the country for his unique sonic imaginings, as well as exciting young Asian-Australian collective Zodiac, exploring jazz from new angles, with an approach stemming from its members cultural background.

Peter Farrar
Peter is perhaps best known as a saxophonist working in the realms of improvised/experimental/jazz/stylefree music, though his love of experimentation sees his practice constantly evolving and branching out.
In recent times you may have seen him performing with the improvised/avant jazz quartet BELIEVE, or you may have seen him playing submerged tiles or frying orbeez, or playing spinning wheels with Adam Gottlieb, or maybe with Phillip Johnston's Greasy Chicken Orchestra.
At Jetsets Peter will be playing saxophone and percussion, performing music that is both pre-imagined and perilously open-ended - to find the intersection of the known and unknown is where a certain magic occurs. This is kind of a duet music that might only be realised by one solo performer, where the totality of the soloist's conception is thwarted by the multiplicity of the execution. And hopefully some nice sounds will result.
Zodiac
Possessing a unique and exciting sound, Zodiac is an emerging ensemble whose music spans across an eclectic blend of jazz genres. Embracing their cultural background as a core virtue of the group’s identity, their compositions reflect upon their individual and collective experiences as Asian-Australians in today’s context.
